THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - West Jackson Street in Thomasville will soon get a makeover.
The city has been focusing projects around an area called the creative arts district.
On Monday, the city approved a contract for an entryway design into the city.
The streets will be improved and they plan to add pedestrian and bicycle pathways.
"West Jackson street is our primary entrance from Tallahassee in the south of town and our intent is to increase development and property investment and pedestrian use of West Jackson Street." said Jerry Pionessa, City Engineer.
This area is also where the new amphitheater will be.
City leaders said its an exciting time for Thomasville with several different projects going on.
