DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - With the voter registration deadline passed, Dougherty County election officials are still counting how many people will be eligible to vote in November.
Right now, the county has about 60,800 registered voters, but that number will go up.
Officials said that hundreds of people registered online before the cutoff.
"I think everyone was excited. I know we were excited and the mere fact there was an app for that, that you can download onto your phone and actually you can register from your own phone. And then go back later, and check the information and from my understanding we know that once they register you actually receive a receipt," said Elections Supervisor Ginger Nickerson.
Early voting for the November 8th election begins on Monday, and residents mus have their state-issued photo ID.
