TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Construction on new turf grass facilities for graduate students in Tifton is almost done.

The construction project at the UGA Tifton campus includes a new greenhouse that will help continue research year round through every season.

The new greenhouse features a heating and cooling system.

Assistant Dean, Joe West, says the program needs a facility that can support the amount of turf grass being shipped.

"It's literally world class. So to be able to have the resources and facilities to be able to support that is really important," said West

UGA's turf program has provided grass used at the World Cup, Augusta National Golf Course, the Super Bowl and football fields across the country.
