COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

The much-anticipated Sunbelt Ag Expo is just eight days away, and drivers need to be aware of the increased traffic expected for the three-day event.

Heavy machinery and tractor trailers towing equipment will be traveling to Moultrie in preparation for the expo.

Colquitt County Sheriff's deputies said they usually see an uptick in accidents during this time of year.

They said farming equipment means slower-moving vehicles on the roadways and visitors from out of town will just add to the traffic.

"There's bumper to bumper traffic," said Investigator Chris Robinson. "You've got a lot of out of town people that are not familiar with the roads, trying to navigate through traffic. We just ask everybody to please be mindful, watch their speeds, and try not to distract ourselves with cell phones, texting, even as much as eating while they drive."

Deputies remind drivers to plan ahead as longer travel-times are expected.

They also remind you to pass with extreme caution.
