TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Tifton's airport is staging ground for military assets.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent six rescue boats to Henry Tift Myers Airport to make sure they didn't get damaged on the coast in the storm.
"I think it's very important. I mean we owe it to them you know as much as they do for the people of the United States. I think we owe it to them to take care of them whenever needed," said Henry Tift Myers Airport Lineman Cody Moore.
An airplane maker also considered storing 48 planes at the airport's hangars but they found another place.
