ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With hunting season on the horizon, members of a growing quail conservation group got together Thursday night in Albany.
Quail Forever held its annual banquet at Merry Acres.
Members enjoyed music, food and auctions.
Items up for bid included a 9-week-old chocolate lab and quail hunting sessions.
"A lot of people have come to be a part of it because they love the idea of this being one of the major South Georgia attractions," said chapter president Bobby McKinney. "This is good business for Albany, Georgia."
Proceeds will benefit the Tall Timbers Research Station, the Florida-Georgia Quail Coalition, the Albany Quail Project and Youth Hunting.
