ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A celebration for women is just around the corner.

Phoebe Putney is having their 13th annual Women's Health Conference.

It's in connection with breast cancer awareness month, and a chance for cancer survivors and those suffering now, to come together.

Last year close to 400 women showed up.

There will be a number of speakers, vendors, and even free health screenings.

"Women are gatekeepers of health when it comes to the family, and when it comes to the community, but often we don't spend enough time helping and supporting women in the wonderful role they have in our families, and in our communities," said Darrell Sabbs, Pheobe Community Benefits Coordinator.

The event will be held at Phoebe Health Works on Saturday, October 15th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you do plan to attend, you should fast the night before, for best results on the glucose tests.
