Coroner makes cause of death ruling on teacher found dead

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

Late Friday afternoon, a passerby on Glow Road in Colquitt County called 911 to report that a man was motionless beside a car. Police came to investigate, and saw that the man was dead. 

Tuesday, Coroner Verlyn Brock issued his ruling that 43 year old Jermaine Walker, who lived on Sweetwater Lakes Drive, in Thomasville, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound

His body was taken to the Crime Lab in Macon.

Law enforcement was looking into Walker, who was a teacher at Jefferson County, Florida High School. He was accused of having inappropriate relations with a high school student.
