COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

Late Friday afternoon, a passerby on Glow Road in Colquitt County called 911 to report that a man was motionless beside a car. Police came to investigate, and saw that the man was dead.

Monday afternoon, the GBI identified the dead man as 43 year old Jermaine Walker, who lived on Sweetwater Lakes Drive, in Thomasville.

His body was taken to the Crime Lab in Macon, but no cause of death has been released so far.

Law enforcement was looking into Walker, who was a teacher at Jefferson County, Florida High School. He was accused of having inappropriate relations with a high school student.

He was questioned by investigators with the Jefferson county Sheriff's Office and the Thomas Co. Sheriff's office on Thursday, and denied the allegations.

Then on Friday afternoon, Thomas Co. deputies obtained a search warrant at the suspect's home.  They discovered that the victim's description of the home was accurate.

On Friday night, Thomas deputies were told that the suspect was found dead in Colquitt County.

Anyone with information concerning the death of Walker is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090, or the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office at 229-616-7466.
