A GBI bomb technician was called in after a grenade was found in the middle of an Albany roadway Sunday. Luckily, it was not 'live.'
The GBI confirmed that status to WALB's Jim Wallace Monday morning.
The grenade was found at about 1:15 Sunday afternoon in the middle of the 1300 block of East Roosevelt Avenue, with its pin still attached.
Officials say the grenade appeared to be old, but the discovery is still under investigation.
The area was blocked off, and the Albany Fire Department was put on standby.
