ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A GBI bomb technician was called in after a grenade was found in the middle of an Albany roadway.

According to officials, a grenade was found at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the middle of the 1300 block of East Roosevelt Avenue with its pin still attached.

Officials say the grenade appeared to be old, but the discovery is still under investigation.

Entry has been blocked off in the area.

The Albany Fire Department is on standby.

More information will be available as the investigation continues.
