TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A handful of high school students made a statement at a football game Friday night.

Some students wore Black Live Matters T-shirts to the Tift County High School football game against Fitzgerald.

The students said they didn't want the principal to think they were trying to stir up trouble.

"We're not doing anything to cause any problems, we're doing it in a positive way but they seem to make it negative so I just want her to realize that," said Tomyia Blackshear, Tift Co. High student.

This week, administrators made two Tift County students take off Black Lives Matters signs that they wore to school on a special homecoming day.
