ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Aspire behavioral health held a celebration for mental health recovery in Albany Wednesday afternoon.
The center opened its doors to patients and community members to remind them recovery from addiction and mental health problems is possible.
Aspire helps patients 24/7 at their locations across south Georgia
"Addiction really is a disease," said Dana Glass who serves as Chief Clinical officer. "It's a brain disease. Any substance somebody takes instantly triggers that reward system in the brain that say this feels good, let me do it again. that's how addiction develops."

Aspire accepts voluntary admissions to their many mental health programs.
