Man wanted in Louisiana arrested in Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany man, wanted in Louisiana for involvement in a shootout outside a Baton Rogue nightclub, was arrested by U.S. Marshals Wednesday morning.

23 year old Raheem Taylor was named in arrest warrants for possession of firearm charges by a convicted felon in Louisiana, and trespassing warrants in Lee County, Georgia.

Just before noon, the U.S. Marshals' Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, along with Dougherty Co. Sheriff's Investigators, arrested Taylor as he smoked a cigarette on the front porch of an apartment on Moultrie Road.

Officials say Taylor was wounded during a shootout March 26th outside the Club MVP in East Baton Rouge.

Police say Taylor and another man exchanged shots in the club parking lot after an argument, and two deputies nearby also fired shots in the shootout.

At the time, Taylor was charged with attempted murder, as well as the gun possession charge, but apparently the attempted murder charge was dismissed.

Taylor is being held in the Lee County jail, to face their trespassing charge, and then will be returned to Louisiana.
