City of Moultrie looks for qualified workers to fill job openings

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

The city of Moultrie is looking for qualified workers to fill several open positions.  

Right now, the city has more than 10 openings in areas such as the fire department,  public works department, and the police department. 

City Manager Pete Dillard said, while the number of open jobs is higher than usual, they'll still take their time to find qualified people.

The city posted the openings on Facebook, and so far, the response has been overwhelming. 

"We posted them one night, and by 8:30 the next morning, 7,000 people had viewed that page and over 100 of them had started applying for jobs," said City Manager Peter Dillard. 

Here is a list of some of the positions open:

  • Utilities Department- Right of Way Operator and Lineman Trainee

  • Public Works- Street Maintenance Crew Operator and Equipment Operator II

  • Fire- Firefighter

  • Planning/Community Development- Building Official

  • Police- Deputy Chief, Sergeant/Investigator and Police Officer

  • Engineering- Engineering Technician I

  • Business Operations- Director
