ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

First responders can now spend their off time hanging with wild animals at a discounted rate.

Chehaw Park already offers a discounted admission price to teachers and military.

They are now expanding that to include first responders who present proof of employment.

Chehaw leaders say it's just a small gesture to show first responders how much they are appreciated.

"I think especially right now in our community, first responders are having a hard time. We want to let make sure they know we support them, love what they do and are appreciative of it," said Morgan Burnette, Director of Community engagement.

The savings range from two dollars off of a day pass, to 10% off of membership costs.
