TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

Folks picked the first pumpkins of the season at Mark's Melon Patch.

Marking the start of its 35th year, the farm opened the gates for the first weekend of autumn.

It is now the fall season and Halloween is right around the corner. One farm in Dawson is getting visitors in the spirit.

Mark Daniel is the owner of Mark's Melon Patch on Albany Hwy in Terrell County.

The first weekend of fall was the opening weekend for the farm.

The fall calendar is filled with events and special discounted prices.

Each weekend will offer a different opportunity for a discount.

These weekend will run through October 30.

Not only can you pick out a pumpkin, there are corn mazes, hayrides, face painting and even night time activities for the whole family.

"The Corn maze is open. We'll have Flash light nights and night hayrides. Lots of entertainment and lots of face painting. A lot of family fun here every weekend, " said Daniel.

Daniel says he looks forward to welcoming visitors every year. He enjoys the fact that his farm is a spot that helps families create memories.

September 30th thru October 2 is church weekend. Simply bring a church bulletin and you get a free hay ride.
