ASU nearly upsets top-ranked West Georgia

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State (1-3) fell to West Georgia (4-0) 27-23 at the Coliseum Saturday night.

The Golden Rams led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter thanks to the arm of Caleb Edmonds.

The senior quarterback threw a touchdown to Michael Green and set up red zone touchdown run from McKinley Habersham in the first period.

West Georgia tallied two touchdowns before halftime pushing its lead to 27-14 at the half.

The Wolves wouldn't score again, but the Golden Rams could only muster up one second half touchdown.

Albany State returns to the Coliseum next Saturday to host Miles College.
