Colquitt's Funderburk not challenged at the Deerfield Invitational

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Deerfield-Windsor School hosted its annual cross country invitational at Darton State College this morning, and no girl was faster than Colquitt County's Elizabeth Funderburk.

With 32 high schools across the state represented, the junior won the girl's varsity event junior won the girls varsity event with a 26 second gap.

Ever the perfectionist, Funderburk talked about how she could improve on her time of 18:19.70

"What I'm working on right now is just try and finish faster," said the girl currently ranked in the top-10 in the state. "Because whenever I'm racing I get stuck in the same pace and it's hard for me to pick up my rhythm at the end. That's something I really want to work on."
