ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany unveiled a new teen center at its Jane Wilson unit in east Albany earlier Friday.

The other teen center is located at the organization's Jefferson unit.

Lowe's donated supplies and Turner Job Corps students painted the room.

The space will create a multifunctional environment for teens to do homework and play video games.

"Teens have said to us over and over again that they want their own dedicated space where they can decorate and also be away from other what they call tweens or their younger counterparts that they can just be themselves," said Marvin Laster, Boys & Girls Club President.

The club plans to makeover other units with unique spaces for other youths.
