ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some young Albany football players are giving back to the community.
The 6 to 8 year old members of the Albany Ravens teamed up with Feed Albany and its partners at Amehr center tonight to hand out food to those in need.
Feed Albany does this each Wednesday downtown from 5 to 6 pm.
The Ravens' coach said the kids asked to help out.
"We're just trying to inspire kids to do good work in their community because it starts with the children," reminded Ricardo Wright. "That's what we're trying to do--build them ans inspire them to do better."
Feed Albany organizer Tosh Sevier was happy to have the kids involved this week.
"If we lift up the bottom, we get a whole new top," said Sevier. "We just wanted to consistently make the effort to reach that love out into the community because you don't know what it's like to not have a meal until you don't have one."
Feed Albany will expand to a second location in east Albany next month.
