ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The president of Albany Technical College said the college is working to increase its job placement rate.

Dr. Anthony Parker gave his state of the college address today to students, faculty and community leaders Wednesday.

He said enrollment is slightly down this semester, but he expects it to go up with the C-term.

Parker said the college's job placement rate for graduates is currently 93 percent.

That is just short of the goal of 95 percent.

A-T-C is also now working to raise money for the second phase of the Carlton Construction Academy.

"That will allow us to add construction programs, move construction programs to that location, grow enrollment and fill a critical void in some programs," said Parker.

They're also working on adding a diesel operations training facility.

Parker said he hopes those projects will help with enrollment.
