Arrests made in Fitzgerald Global Meat Market murder

FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

Officials have made an arrest in a an apparent armed robbery turned homicide in Fitzgerald.

The GBI arrested George Gilstrap, 22, on August 26th. He is charged with armed robbery and murder.

On August 28th, Jackqulen Nicole Reliford, 26, was also arrested and charged with false statements and writings.

The shooting happened on August 9, at the Global Meat Market around 4:30 p.m.

Fitzgerald Police and the GBI arrived the on scene and said that Narendrakumar J. Patel, one of the owners, was shot inside the store during an armed robbery.

When he was arrested, Gilstrap had two open warrants for forgery and larceny.

The investigation is ongoing, and GBI officials expect more arrests to be made.
