AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Phoebe Sumter Medical Center has two new child-friendly rooms in the emergency center.

Thanks to donations from the community, Phoebe added specialized pediatric equipment and educational tools along with murals with cartoon characters and bright colors to put children at ease.

"It will certainly help them feel a little calmer, give them something to distract them from the pain and anxiety related to being sick and being in an unfamiliar environment," said Phoebe Sumter CEO Brandi Lunneborg.
