THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

The city announced that it has parted ways with the developer JVM Ventures.

After JVM was successful in being awarded the project bid, they suggested a possible hotel and parking garage on the site.

Since discussion of adding those to the proposal they have not been able to reach an agreement.

The city wants to assure everyone that they will continue to work on the proposed project.

"The event center will still be moving forward and we will be moving forward with looking for another developer, we're committed to that and committed to having an event center that the community can appreciate," said Lynn Williams, Assistant City Manager.

The event center is planned to be built at former Roses property on South Dawson Street.
