Albany convenience store robbed at gunpoint

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Officials say that two men, dressed in black, used handguns to rob the Westside Grocery store on West Gordon Avenue Sunday night.

Shortly after 11 p.m., two men rushed into the store, showing their handguns, and demanding money from the till. The clerk complied, and the men ran off with cash, in a black plastic bag.

One man was 5' 10," the other might have been as tall six feet, and they both were of slender build.

Just moments before this incident, two men matching this description were at the Neighborhood Grocery, about five blocks away. They ran away from that store when a car pulled into the parking lot.

There was surveillance video of both locations, which detectives are studying. We hope to get images that show the culprits soon.

If you have any information on this crime, call Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS, and you may win a cash reward.
