SEMINOLE CO., GA (WALB) -

One person died and three were injured after a wreck following a vehicle pursuit in Donalsonville.

Seminole Co. officials received a 911 notification from Jackson Co. Florida at about 7:20 p.m. Friday regarding a reddish compact sport utility vehicle driving recklessly and headed towards the Georgia state line.

Sheriff's deputies traveled south down Highway 91 in an attempt to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop. That's when deputies spotted the vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Alexis White, traveling north on the wrong side of the road.

Upon attempting the traffic stop, White continued on the left side of the road while driving at speeds of almost 90 mph and forcing drivers off the road.

Seminole County sheriff's deputies and Donalsonville Police then joined up on Hebrew Road in an attempt to stop White before she entered the city limits and approached the area of an ongoing football game. White then drove the vehicle into the city limits while refusing to stop, forcing other drivers off the road.

White continued onto Tennille Avenue, crossing Highway 84 and the railroad tracks while still on the left lane, before causing a head-on collision with a truck full of teenagers.

White was pronounced dead at the scene. The three passengers in the truck, ranging in ages 17-19, were transported to various hospitals for their injuries.

One of the victims was transported to Donalsonville Hospital and later released.

The other teenagers were transported to hospitals in Mobile, Alabama and Tallahassee. Both are expected make recoveries.

EMS and the Donalsonville Fire Department responded to the scene. Georgia State Patrol was called in to investigate the wreck.
