ALBANY, GA (WALB) - South Georgia customers helped Albany's new Cheddar's restaurant set a record.
It had the highest opening week sales of any of the chains 10 locations in Georgia.
Co-owner Allen Peake said that the restaurant's quality food, large portion sizes and affordable prices are reasons behind the volume.
"And the fact that we're locally owned, we're from Macon. We're here in Georgia. We're not some big company coming from out of state opening a restaurant. We're here at the restaurant on a day-to-day basis," said Peake.
Peake is looking to open more locations in Brunswick, Kennesaw and Newnan in the coming months.
