EARLY CO., GA (WALB) - Our future engineers and salesmen are hard at work at Early County High School.
Students are preparing for the BEST competition that kicks off this weekend in Dothan.
BEST, which stands for Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology, is an extra curricular program at the high school.
It's the only school in southwest Georgia to have a team.
At the kickoff this weekend students will be give a "problem." They then have 42 days to create a robot to solve the problem.
They'll have to present their ideas to judges.
Seniors who participated last year say they are ready for whatever is brought their way.
"It's a lot like working in an actual engineering company and its actually a lot of fun because you are getting real work like experience," said Kyle Cutchens, senior.
"There were a lot of late nights spent, just time in general that we had to put to get this project to where we needed it to be so we could perform well at competition," said Jacob Benton, senior.
Close to 50 students are participating this year.
They will be competing against 15 other schools in Alabama.
