ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Startling surveillance video shows a violent robbery at an Albany store that has been held up multiple times before.

The Albany Police Department released the video Tuesday night, hoping it will help solve the crime.

The owner of the store said this was the seventh time it's been robbed. And this time, the robbers fired shots.

In the video, two men with guns and masks forced a customer inside the store just before midnight on Friday.

One of them jumped over one counter while the other began beating on the window of the counter closest to the door.

The first robber kicked the door and shot the doorknob three times to get into the room where money is kept.

One customer said that he's worried about crime increasing in the neighborhood.

"People in the community, we actually have to wake up and actually see that even though we don't own this community, we stay here. So the best thing you can pretty much do is to stay positive, have unity, and get money a legal way," said resident Swisha Man Slim.

Police continue to investigate.

If you think you recognize either of the two robbers, authorities want you to call the CrimeSTOPPERS hotline at (229) 436-TIPS.
