DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Students got the chance to show of some of their artistic abilities.
Dougherty Comprehensive High School hosted an art show on Tuesday, featuring work by artists from the high school as well as Albany State University.
The students were all smiles as they showed their work to members of the community, including the assistant superintendent.
Being the fine arts school in the system the school has a number of talented young artists.
"Well basically it's to give the kids something else to look forward to in school," said art teacher and department chair at DCHS Samantha Fields. "It gives them a more fun way to learn the things they are learning in the academic as well."
"I'm always excited for people to see that I'm artistic because they really don't know," said junior at DCHS Jakiera Daniels.
The art display will be up at the high school until the end of the month.
