DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Opening arguments in the trial of a man charged with shooting his wife in the face with a rifle are to begin Wednesday.
A jury was seated late Tuesday afternoon in the trial of Artinitia Stringer. He is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
Prosecutors say in November 2015 Stringer broke into his wife's home on Council Road in Dougherty County, and then shot her in the face with a .22 rifle.
Stringer is being tried as a recidivist, because of three previous felony convictions.
