ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County Rotary Club and SOWEGA Council On Aging honored Albany and Dougherty County's first responders today.
Following the 15th anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks, the club played a video in remembrance of those lost.
The club also donated to the benevolence funds for the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, Albany Police, Dougherty County E-M-S, and Albany Fire Department.
Dougherty County Rotary Club President Donna Gray said "They spend their lives everyday rescuing other people. Put their lives on the line. So we just want to honor them."
The SOWEGA Council On Aging gave first responders teddy bears made by their volunteers with materials paid for by Phoebe Putney hospital.
First responders have them in emergency vehicles to give to children affected by disasters or crime.
