MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Construction workers are hard at work in Moultrie as new business are popping up.
A new Starbucks and AT&T store are under construction off of Veterans Parkway.
And construction is ahead of schedule at the new Publix shopping center.
Development Authority President Darrell Moore said the new businesses bring a lot more than just new places to shop.
"The projected revenue for the entire center was $40 to $50 million in sales per year," he said. "It's going to have a huge impact on sales tax, digest. First of all the tax digest for the community, but then also the sales tax revenues that it's going to generate. It's going to be tremendous."
Moore said two new restaurants, a beauty salon, and a pet store will also open in the Publix shopping center.
The Publix should be open the first week of November.
Publix will host a job fair September 22nd through the 24th at Southern Regional Technical college in Moultrie.
