TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tifton police have arrested one person after they responded to shots fired early Monday morning at the Walmart Supercenter on highway 82 West.

When officials arrived, they arrested Brandon Rogers, 29, who had a handgun at the time.

Police reported that the call came in around 4:20 a.m. and that two shots were fired by Rogers.

Authorities said there were no injuries but the Walmart was closed for a while during the investigation.

Officials said that Rogers did not explain why he fired the shots.

Police also said that the situation could have been worse, but because employees didn't panic and got all necessary information to responding officers, police and sheriff's deputies were able to go in and take Rogers into custody without further incident.
