ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A yard sale in Albany will help pay for a double kidney transplant operation.

Mia Meeks, 26, was diagnosed with Lupus in 2009.

Two years ago, she went into stage 5 progressive kidney failure.

Meeks recently got word a few weeks ago that she had a match for a kidney transplant.

The operation will take place in  Atlanta.

Her church family decided to help out with her medical and travel expenses by hosting a yard sale.

The yard sale was a huge success.

"You don't realize it until you actually experience it. And just seeing everybody come out. Some people didn't even give anything, they gave donations. Just makes you very happy to be in a community like this," said Mia Meeks.

Mia will travel to Atlanta for her operation in the next few weeks and will remain there for a month.

To donate to her cause, visit the GoFundMe page.
