GBI investigates multiple shootings in Lakeland, one dead

LAKELAND, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist the Lakeland Police Department with multiple shooting investigations.

LPD officers were called to the 70 block of Peeler Avenue in reference to a shooting Friday at about 11:30 p.m.

Upon arrival officials found ‎Willis Lamar Flintroyal, 32, and Schalonda Beatrice Johnson, 32, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to South Georgia Medical Center, where Flintroyal later died of his injuries. Johnson was transported with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

While responding to the shooting on Peeler Avenue, officers heard gunshots and reported to the corner of MLK Drive and 8th street.

Officers found Lewis S. Geddie, 20, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to SGMC for treatment of his injuries.

Flintroyal's body was transported to the GBI Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy.

It is still unclear if the shootings were related. The GBI is now continuing the investigation.
