SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - The popular farmers market is returning to the downtown streets of Sylvester.
City officials said it's best to reopen the market as the fall crops come in.
Sylvester currently has five vendors selling a wide variety of produce like jelly and sausage.
"The way the world is now getting back to healthy eating is an important thing. It's kind of you know where your produce is coming from. You know where everything is coming from and you get to meet the farmer one-on-one," said Sylvester Main Street Director Jana Dyke.
Farmers were handing out food samples and teaching residents different ways to cook on Saturday.
The market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon through November.
