Albany Mall gets a patriotic makeover

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

American Legion Post 30 have partnered with the JROTC units from Westover, Worth County and Lee County High Schools and the Marines.

They have decorated the front lawn of the Albany mall with over 850 American flags along with 146 white crosses to represent the men and women from Dougherty and Lee county who have died in combat since World War 1.

The flags will stay up through September 12 in remembrance of September 11.

The flags and crosses will be up all week.

There will also be a celebration event on September 10th at 7pm.

    Here in Southwest Georgia the American Red Cross has been working the last couple of days to prepare for the storm.  The American Red Cross has been getting their relief supplies ready across the 19 county region.
