Albany has scattered power outages

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Utilities Energy Control Division started dealing with electricity outages about 3:30 A.M. Friday morning, caused by rain and heavy winds from Hurricane Hermine.

Power to approximately 300 homes was knocked out.

Areas that have reported power outage are the 800 block of N. Jackson Street, 500 Pinson Road, the 1500 block of 5th Avenue, Devencrest Mobile Home Park, Rosser Lane Homewood Drive, and Johnson Road.

"Line crews have been out since early this morning working to restore power and we appreciate the patience of our customers at this time," says Jimmy Norman, Director of Utilities Operations.

Utility Officials ask residents to please stay clear of any utility lines that may be on the ground or tangled in fallen trees.
