THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Some businesses in downtown Thomasville closed early on Thursday, leaving notes on their doors for customers.

The Bookshelf owner Annie Jones let some of her employees go early, but she stayed open to give folks a chance to get some books to read in case their stuck at home this weekend.

"I think they've enjoyed having a place to come kind of wait out some of the rainy spots we've seen. And like I said kind of getting their book list ready for staying at home for a couple of days," said Jones.

The Bookshelf will be open Friday at noon instead of 10 a.m.
