DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County crews are prepared for whatever Tropical Storm Hermine could bring this way.

First responders have made cars and equipment ready to go if Hermine makes landfall.

The Albany Fire Department has equipment and emergency vehicles all set up.

"We have fueled up fire trucks and made sure generators and chainsaws are completely full of fuel and ready," said Assistant Chief Sebon Burns

Assistant Public Works Director Chucky Mathis said his crews have been hard at work making sure the pumps and clean up trucks are ready for anything.

Public works has vehicles ready to clean up the streets in case of debris. He said they have given them special attention because of this storm.

Members of the fire department have also been sitting in on National Weather Service webinars getting the latest information on the storm.

WALB First Alert Meterologist, Chris Zelman, recommends buying extra water, batteries, to fill up vehicles with gas and get money out of ATM's before the possibility of power outage.
