(WALB) -

Four pilots at Moody Air Force Base have been taken out of the cockpit and are under investigation.

On Monday, they flew their A-10C Thunderbolt II's at low altitude over Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte shortly after they took off from the airport there, heading back to Moody.

23rd Wing Commander Colonel Thomas Kunkel released a statement saying Moody takes aviation safety very seriously, and the base is working with the FAA to ensure civil and military aviation instructions were complied with.
