CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Families in Louisiana continue to struggle following historic floods.

One church in Cordele is doing what they can to help.

All week, they will be collecting items such as bottled water, toilet paper, paper towels, socks, underwear and other necessities.

Organizers will leave Sunday morning with everything they have collected.

"You’ve got to do something and why can’t we? You know, everyone can buy a $3 case of bottled water. You know, that’s it, $3. Who is going to miss $3? You know, and to them it’s going to mean a lot. Seeing the pictures, it just makes you want to ball, you know, or do something and I figured we could help," said Organizer Nicky Scarborough.

Anybody who like to make a donation can drop off items at Penia Baptist Church at 3738 Old Penia Road in Cordele.
