Second suspect arrested in Americus shooting

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Americus Police  say they have arrested a man they wanted in connection to a shooting that happened a week ago in Americus.

Hardy Shantario Patrell, Jr,  of Douglas Circle in Americus, was wanted for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was taken into custody About 10:00 Saturday night, when APD went to the Parkview Apartments, and arrested him for obstruction law enforcement officer, as well.

Hakeem Barthell, 21, remains in the hospital after being shot once. He also has a warrant for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

William Moore III, 18, is not being charged at this time. An update about his condition was not immediately available.
