TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Drivers in Tifton will soon have a much smoother ride along one heavily traveled road.

Last month, Tifton’s City Council approved the plans for two major improvements coming to 20th Street.

Before construction takes place, those with the project are holding an open meeting for community members.

The open discussion is set to take place on Monday, August 29, 2016, at 4:30 p.m., at City Hall-Council Chambers.

Those who attend the meeting will get to learn more details about the improvements, voice their concerns, and ask questions about the project.

Participants will also get to learn about alternative routes while crews work on the roadway.

Tifton’s City Hall-Council Chambers is located at 130 East 1st Street.
