ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A severe storm swept through Northwest Albany Tuesday and left quite the mess at the Albany Mall.

Crews were out around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday picking up branches and removing fallen trees.

Lee Harper of Harper Tree Service counted over 20 fallen trees that had toppled over during the storm.

Branches flew across the parking lot damaging a total of 8 vehicles.

Other damages included a fallen light post and holes in the mall's signage.

Harper told WALB News 10 that this is his second cleanup at the mall.

“This is the worst time that this has happened at the mall. The Bradford Pears are always dangerous anyway, because they split and then your Oak trees just get top heavy,” Harper explained.

Crews finished removing the trees shortly after 10:00 a.m. The mall is operating under normal hours.
