Boys & Girls Club presents award to Albany city manager

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany's City Manager got a special surprise Tuesday night. 

The Boys & Girls Club presented a National Award of Merit to Sharon Subadan.

The organization said that she has shown outstanding support for the Boys & Girls club movement, and helped the club get restarted in east Albany with a partnership through the city's Recreation and Parks Department.

"City manager Subadan is not only champion for Boys and Girls Club but she's a champion for people across the country," said Boys & Club of Albany CEO Marvin Laster.

The organization said that this is a prestigious award.

Winners go through a highly competitive process and must be approved by a national committee.
