WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WALB) - Two of the three victims in a west Albany attack and house fire earlier this month were laid to rest Saturday in Florida.
Jacqueline Sanders, 54, and her 6-year-old granddaughter, Zakyria Sanders had a joint funeral in West Palm Beach.
Zakyria died after her grandmother attacked her with a knife at her home on West Doublegate Drive in Albany.
Sanders later set the house on fire. She also attacked her 10-year-old grandson Isaiah Gates, but he survived.
When Sanders set the home on fire, she tried to escape with her 7-year-old grandson Jaylan Barr, but he later died as a result of being in the burning home.
His funeral was last Saturday in West Palm Beach.
Sanders died the following day at the hospital.
Prosecutors believe she suffered from schizophrenia and had stopped taking her medication.
