LEE CO., GA (WALB) - People enjoyed live music and dancing for a good cause Friday night in Lee County.
The Alzheimer's Outreach Center of South GA held its 8th annual Blast from the Past fundraiser at the Bindery.
The center's director said it had seen significant budget cuts in the last few years, so Friday night's event was vital to keep the facility operating.
"It's very important because it's actually for the caregivers because we take the people who have dementia and we take them all day long Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 3 so their caregivers can have a break," said Nancy Goode, Alzheimer's Outreach Center Development Director.
More than 300 people attended the event, which raised more than $12,000.
